Dormer Pramet has launched a wear-resistant grade for threading. The Pramet T8010 is ideal for continuous precision threading of steels, stainless steel, cast iron and super alloys. It extends the company’s assortment in this application area and supports the universal grade T8030.

The tool features plastic deformation resistance, which provides a stable cutting-edge, prolonging durability. The tool is said to enable higher cutting speeds, resulting in higher productivity. A gold finish on the insert enables a simple wear indicator, while a hard substrate and PVD coating has been optimized to alleviate interior residual stress to improve tool life, the company says.
