Updated CAD/CAM Software Supports Turn-Mill and Multitasking Machines

PartMaker Inc., a division of Delcam Plc., will introduce Version 2015 of its CAD/CAM software featuring updated support for turn-mill machines and multitasking machines. The software also offers improved functionality for programming CNC mills, lathes, wire EDMs and Swiss-type lathes. According to the company, updates to the software's machining algorithms provide increased capability and productivity while retaining ease of use.
Version 2015 includes specialist support for vertical turn-mill machines that combine the turning functionality typical of a vertical turret lathe with the motions of a five-axis VMC. The software also supports turret-based Swiss-type lathes with programmable B-axis live tooling attachments. Improved postprocessing for multitasking machines is intended to assist the user in taking advantage of a machine’s specific capabilities.
