The HighQLine of tools from Iscar includes tool families intended to improve efficiency and profitability. The tools focus on increased productivity with smart insert locking mechanisms, which create a more-stable machining process, the company says.Designed in response to the trend toward high speed machining and turn-mill CNC, the tool line features upgraded tool and insert geometries for less downtime. According to the company, the tools are well-suited for the new generation of machining centers with high feeds and speeds.
The line includes: Dove IQ Turn, a dovetail pocket with a lever-clamping mechanism for heavy turning; Dove IQ Grip, a tool line with a frontal locking mechanism for deep heavy-grooving applications; Do-Grip IQ double-ended inserts clamped with high force for grooving and parting; Penta IQ Grip small pentagonal inserts with five cutting edges for grooving and parting; Heli IQ Grip milling inserts with three cutting edges for reduced cutting forces and power consumption; Dove IQ Mill milling insert with eight cutting edges for face milling applications; and Hold IQ Lock, a collet design with strong and reliable clamping said to prevent tools from being pulled out of the holder in heavy applications.
The tool line is included in the Iscar Tool Advisor (ITA), a parametric search engine for tool selection. The ITA is available online, as an application for iOS and Android operating systems, and as a DVD in 26 languages.
