Waterjet Machining Center Achieves Zero Taper
Omax’s 60120 JetMachining bridge-style waterjet cutting center handles a range of industry applications in virtually any material.
Omax’s 60120 JetMachining bridge-style waterjet cutting center handles a range of industry applications in virtually any material. Equipped with a Tilt-A-Jet cutting head accessory, the waterjet is said to achieve zero taper for precision cutting of high-tolerance parts with square edges such as interlocking pieces and dovetail fittings. Through the Intelli-Max control software, the Tilt-A-Jet automatically calculates and adjusts the angle of the cutting nozzle to accurately remove the natural taper from the finished part by transferring it to the scrap material. According to the company, the waterjet can accomplish quick turnaround of accurate parts by avoiding the need for tool changes or complex fixturing. Smooth surface finishes are said to eliminate secondary machining operations.
