Fives to Present Webinar on Flexible Grinding System
In addition to exhibiting at IMTS Spark, Fives will give a webinar October 27 about flexible grinding for manufacturing.
Fives will showcase products from its Composites and Automated Solutions, Material removal and Grinding; Ultra Precision and Cutting Tools; and Abrasives lines during IMTS Spark. The company will also present a webinar covering flexible grinding for manufacturing on October 27 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
During the webinar, Fives Grinding CTO Mark Stocker will present the company’s new system that enables adaptive flexibility for mass production lines. Stocker will share details of the motivation for the system’s concept and design, along with testing and development validation procedures. The webinar will also cover the ability to overcome inherent thermal and compliance issues with conventional machines; how a machine initially developed for ultra-precision grinding of optics is also suited for grinding bearings and other components; the initial development for ultra-precision grinding of optics, converted for grinding bearings and other components; results from grinding tests using combined processes; and an overview of potential new frontiers for grinding bearings.
