The HRT160SS “super-speed” rotary table from Haas Automation provides indexing speeds as fast as 570 degrees per second and is designed for use with  high-speed machining centers. According to the company, the rotary table is more than four times faster than its HRT160 model, and its compact size is designed to complement the DT-1 drill/tap center as well as various other compact machining centers. Oil patterns have been optimized to reduce drag, the brake system has been modified for faster response and acceleration/deceleration rates have been increased to cut cycle times.

The rotary table is driven by a high-torque, brushless servomotor that provides 150 foot-pounds (203 Nm) of spindle torque for synchronous four-axis machining, and it has a pneumatic brake that yields 100 foot-pounds (136 Nm) of holding torque for stationary work. Indexing accuracy is ±15 arcseconds with repeatability of 10 arcseconds. The table’s 6.3" (160-mm) platter has a center height of 5" (127 mm) and a 1.5" (38-mm) diameter through-hole. Six radial T-slots are designed to simplify fixture and workpiece mounting, and both manual and pneumatic tailstocks are available for additional workpiece support.
