VMC Series Speeds Interpolation
Chevalier’s EM series includes three VMC models: the EM1620L, EM2033L and EM2040L.
Chevalier’s EM series includes three VMC models: the EM1620L, EM2033L and EM2040L. Designed for large-quantity machining within limited floor space, the series accommodates loads ranging to 1,320 lbs with table dimensions ranging to 47" × 20". The X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure as much as 40" × 20.8" × 20".
Providing fast interpolation, the VMC series is said to minimize machining time with high speeds ranging to 1,889.7 ipm. A 20-hp spindle motor is capable of 10,000 rpm for quality surface finishes in high-speed applications, as well as adequate torque for lower-rpm applications. The VMCs can also be equipped with 12,000- or 15,000 rpm as an option. The arm-type automatic toolchanger with random tool change accommodates 24 tools.
The major parts of the machines are constructed of Meehanite cast iron for stability. The base is supported by full-travel, enabling high-speed machining. All three axes are constructed with high-speed linear ways for smooth, fast movement. The VMCs also are equipped with an 8.4" color LCD and FANUC 0iMD control that offers four-axis simultaneous contouring, linear-circular-helical interpretation, and canned cycles for drilling, tapping and profiling. A conversational Manual Guide 0i is also included.
