Mitutoyo America Corp. has released the LSM-6902H laser scan micrometer, a non-contact, high-accuracy measurement system designed for measuring pin gages or plug gages.
The system features an accuracy of ±0.5 micron over the entire measuring range and a higher accuracy of ±(0.3 + 0.1ΔD) micron over a narrow range. The LSM-6902H has a resolution ranging from 0.01 to 10 microns (0.000001" to 0.0005"), a scanning rate of 1,600 scans/sec. and a laser scanning speed of 112 m/sec.
The sensor system’s scanning motor enables measurement accuracy down to 0.3 micron. The LSM-6902H is said to have excellent gage repeatability and reproducibility since measurements do not contact the workpiece. The standard output is RS-232C with analog I/O module. An optional two-channel digimatic code output unit is also available.
