The Vardex multi-flute indexable thread mill is said to reduce thread machining cycle times. The inserts are available in either 0.988" or 1.575" (25 or 40-mm) lengths in a variety of holder styles. For high feed rates, the mills are available with as many as nine inserts. With cutting diameters as small as 0.67", the tools are designed provide excellent stability in deep holes, the company says.
