Aptera expands presence of solar electric vehicle into UAE
The UAE will provide an ideal environment to introduce the company’s solar-powered composites-intensive BinC vehicle internationally.
Aptera (Carlsbad, Calif., U.S.), efficient composite solar electric vehicle (sEV) manufacturer, is expanding into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market, marking a pivotal step in the company’s global growth strategy. This move aligns with Aptera’s vision of producing 1 million sEVs by 2030 and establishing a strong international presence.
The UAE provides Aptera with an ideal environment to introduce its solar-powered EVs overseas. With high consumer demand for first-of-its-kind clean mobility solutions and a conducive regulatory environment, the UAE facilitates swift international deliveries.
“The UAE’s commitment to sustainable transportation and its supportive regulatory framework align well with Aptera’s goals for international expansion,” Chris Anthony, co-founder and co-CEO of Aptera, notes. “We are excited about the potential to contribute positively to the UAE’s innovative automotive landscape.'”
In conjunction with Aptera’s entry into the UAE market, the company announces the limited production of the “Union (or Etihad) Edition” Aptera for exclusive delivery to the UAE in 2026. These units will feature a gold exterior colorway, advanced “Solar Chill” technology for pre-cooling the cabin, butterfly doors, commemorative markings celebrating the anniversary of the Union, custom interior trims and more.
Aptera invites investors who invest $27,000 (approximately AED 100,000) or more on or after April 19, 2024 to secure one of the 53 Union Edition Aptera vehicle reservation slots.
