Lincoln Electric, IPG Photonics Enter Partnership

Arc welding and cutting product supplier Lincoln Electric (Cleveland, Ohio) and fiber laser and amplifer manufacturer IPG Photonics (Oxford, Massachusetts) have formed a strategic partnership to explore global opportunities in the laser welding and cutting market.   The agreement stipulates that the two companies will jointly pursue the development of methods for providing expanded, turnkey solutions involving hybrid fiber laser/MIG welding technology to industrial companies worldwide.

The agreement stipulates that the two companies will jointly pursue the development of methods for providing expanded, turnkey solutions involving hybrid fiber laser/MIG welding technology to industrial companies worldwide. The partnership will also involve cooperative sales, application development and marketing efforts.
 
According to the companies, potential benefits include collaboration and strategy development toward the pursuit of new business opportunities; shared technology development; improved business processes; rapid commercialization; system integration; and entry into new markets and applications.
