Okuma America will host its 2013 Technology Showcase event December 10-12 at its Charlotte, North Carolina facility. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about various topics, including drawing-to-part manufacturing, lights-out manufacturing, hard turning, gear cutting and automation cells, among others. Daily educational “demonars” will focus on topics such as Caron engineering adaptive software (TMAC), Renishaw Equator and Machining-Navi.

The company will demonstrate cutting composites, Inconel, titanium and carbon fiber on machines such as the Okuma LB-3000 EX, Multus B750, MB-4000H, Palletace and VTR-160A double-column turning center. Members of Partners in THINC will demonstrate how to integrate peripheral equipment such as tooling, gaging, workholding, automation and CNC software with Okuma technology.

The event marks the 50th anniversary of the OSP control, and attendees will have the opportunity to try the control through self-directed displays. Factory tours of the Okuma headquarters will be offered each day.
