Cutting tool manufacturer Sandvik Coromant (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) has announced the appointment of John Israelsson to president of Market Area Americas, a new business area. Jamie Price, currently vice president of sales, will succeed Mr. Israelsson as president of Sandvik Coromant USA, a role in which he will assume responsibility for the company’s U.S. operations.
According to the company, Mr. Israelssons new role supports its strategic efforts to become a more global organization. He will be tasked with leveraging performance, growing sales, improving the company’s competitive position, and increasing synergies between the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Latin America.
Mr. Israelsson has been with the company since 1987 and held positions ranging from product development and sales to executive management. His stint as president began in 2006. His successor, Mr. Price, has worked with Sandvik since 1993 in various sales roles. He has served as part of the management team since 2006.
