The Manufacturing Institute, Deloitte, University of Phoenix and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) have recognized 122 women for their excellence and leadership in manufacturing. The Women in Manufacturing Science, Technology, Engineering and Production (STEP) award recipients were honored at a reception in Washington, D.C. in February.

STEP awards are presented to women who have made significant achievements in manufacturing through a positive impact on their companies and the industry as a whole. The awards are part of the larger STEP Ahead initiative launched to examine and promote the role of women in manufacturing. The initiative’s mission is to change perceptions of the manufacturing industry and create new opportunities for women in the sector.
