Band Saw Blades For Abrasive Cutting

Share

The HRc line of carbide-tipped band saw blades is designed to offer fast, smooth cutting when compared to cut-off saw blades, the company says. The blades can cut highly abrasive materials such as case-hardened materials, steel-belted tires, railroad tracks and chrome-plated shafting.

The micro grained heat and wear-resistant carbide teeth are applied using a weld process that helps prevent the teeth from breaking off and becoming lodged in the workpiece. A customized tooth design provides additional resistance to tooth strippage and is said to allow penetration in difficult applications. Some demanding cuts can take 40 minutes to perform when using an abrasive wheel; however, the HRc blades can accomplish such jobs in less than two minutes, the company says.
