Gleason’s Genesis series vertical gear hobbing machine models 260H and 400H are designed for the production of spur and helical gears with diameters as large as 260 mm and 400 mm, respectively. The machines feature 700 mm of axial travel to accommodate extra-long shafts.

Designed for the dry-machining environment, the gear hobbing machines feature a clean and uncluttered work chamber and a single-piece mineral cast polymer composite base/frame for damping and thermal stability. The machines also feature a compact, slim-profile design to ease installation and integrate automation for cell/system application.

Options include two direct-drive modular workspindles, two different high-performance hob heads, multiple tool interfaces, quick-change workholding and  integrated rotary chamfering and deburring.

The machines are equipped with the Siemens 840D CNC control running the latest Gleason Windows-based software. According to the company, all major service components are consolidated in easy-access modules to speed and simplify maintenance.
