Mazak’s Quick Turn Nexus 250-II multitasking turning center features milling, Y-axis capability, and main and second spindles for done-in-one operations on medium- and large-sized components. The turning center accommodates bar work ranging to 77 mm (3.0") in diameter and workpieces ranging to 380 mm (14.75") in diameter. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 230 × 100 × 575 mm (9" × 4.0" × 22.75").
The main spindle provides 4,000 rpm and 26 kW (35 hp) at a 30-min. rating, while the rotary tool spindle provides 4,500 rpm and 5.5 kW (7.5 hp) at a 10-min. rating. The machine also is equipped with a 10" main and 6" secondary chuck. Rotary tools can be mounted in all 12 positions of the drum turret for high-efficiency machining. VDI-type toolholders are designed to be quickly loaded and unloaded by turning a single bolt, decreasing setup time.
