Profile Sensor Analyzes Complex Objects with Single Laser
Sick USA offers its Profiler 2 short-range sensor for measuring profiles and surfaces of complex objects with one laser line.
Sick USA offers its Profiler 2 short-range sensor for measuring profiles and surfaces of complex objects with one laser line. The unit can analyze as many as four areas of an object at the same time with a single measurement. Featuring 10 integrated measurement functions (for example, height, width and angle), the sensor quickly and reliably measures objects regardless of color, material or shape, according to the company. Measuring a 2D profile with just one sensor saves on hardware and installation costs, making the Profiler 2 a cost-effective measurement solution.
In addition, the stand-alone design eliminates the need for additional cabling and evaluation units. While the integrated CMOS receiver unit ensures precise measuring, the supplied software simplifies commissioning and provides real-time visualization of the measurement process.
