Shrink-Fit System Increases Holding Power
The MST Slimline Curve shrink-fit toolholder system from Single Source Technologies is designed to provide minimal deflection, high accuracy and extended tool life in 2+3 and simultaneous five-axis machining applications.
The MST Slimline Curve shrink-fit toolholder system from Single Source Technologies is designed to provide minimal deflection, high accuracy and extended tool life in 2+3 and simultaneous five-axis machining applications. It can also be used in complicated 3D applications such as aerospace blisks and medical implants.
The system features a slim shank and rigid base with a stainless steel thermal expansion coefficient 1.6 times higher than common steel. This design provides greater holding power than conventional taper collets and accuracies within 5 microns (0.0002" TIR) in difficult-to-reach features, the company says.
