Toolholder Extension Increases Tool Life
Schunk says its hydraulic expansion extension Tendo-SVL transforms virtually every precision toolholder into a highly versatile specialist for narrow spaces independent from the spindle interface.
Schunk says its hydraulic expansion extension Tendo-SVL transforms virtually every precision toolholder into a highly versatile specialist for narrow spaces independent from the spindle interface. The precise run-out, vibration damping and internal coolant supply are said to increase tool life and provide quality machining results.
The radial clamping actuation enables tools to be changed in the machine. The maximum torque of the hydraulically clamped extension ensures that tools are held securely for all drilling, reaming and finish milling operations, the company says.
Extensions are available in four sizes, with shank diameters measuring 32 or 20 mm; clamping diameters measuring 20 or 12 mm; and a length of 150 mm (200-mm lengths are also available with 32-mm shanks).
