OGP’s ai620, a metrology-class 3D scanner for parts up to 600 × 190 mm, is the latest addition to the company’s ShapeGrabber line. Like all ShapeGrabber systems, the ai620 measures the complete surface of complexly shaped plastic, metal and 3D printed parts in minutes with a high density of data points, the company says.
After an initial scan, the same scanning parameters may be used for subsequent parts, delivering consistent results irrespective of operator skill or experience, since there is no need to write special code.
The ai620 derives its accuracy from rigid and stable mechanical structure, high-precision vertical and rotary motion, calibration, and the sg198 optical scanhead.
ShapeGrabber 3D metrology scanners from OGP accurately verify part dimensions. Graphical models of ShapeGrabber measurements ease part quality decisions without tying up other, slower measuring systems that measure one point at a time.
