How Simulation Accelerates Success With Additive Manufacturing

December 08, 2021 |

Additive manufacturing, popularly known as 3D printing, is revolutionizing both engineering design and production.

With its capability to quickly turn a digital design into a physical product, additive manufacturing supports mass customization and fast response times. High material costs require product developers to get their designs right—the first time and every time.

Agenda:

  • Accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing by enabling more effective design
  • Dramatically decrease failed builds and increase machine productivity

Presenter 1:

Chris Robinson

Senior Manager of Additive Manufacturing

Chris Robinson is the Senior Manager of Additive Manufacturing (AM) at Ansys. He started his research related to AM while designing satellite components in 2004. He has been involved in AM research for 17 years at Sandia National Laboratories, Utah State University, NAVAIR, Boeing, 3DSIM and Ansys. Chris has worked on AM product, process, material, equipment, and software development projects at every stage of development from fundamental ideation to commercial flight qualification.
