Leaders-In background

MTI Systems (West Springfield, Massachusetts) has announced a country-wide initiative to offer educational institutions a significant discount on its flagship Costimator software, a cost-estimating, quoting and process planning system. The company says the initiative represents its commitment to helping educational institutions attract and prepare a new generation of workers for skilled manufacturing positions. “With the continued development of new programs and increasing efforts being applied to improving today’s engineering workforce, we feel confident our participation will help increase competitiveness for U.S. manufacturing, says David LaJoie, vice president of MTI.

The discount is available to educational institutions including community colleges, universities and technical schools. MTI says it will supply a classroom license to help meet the needs of the institution’s student training requirements. The company will also provide the institution with initial training and an annual support and maintenance contract.
