View MoreTungaloy-NTK America announces the expansion of its TungSpeed-Mill series, introducing small-diameter, extra-close pitch cutters. The lineup includes 40-mm (z=8), 50-mm (z=10) and 63-mm (z=14) diameter bore-type cutters with high tooth counts for enhanced productivity. Additionally, the lightweight steel body features a specialized design for strength and rigidity while reducing weight compared to conventional cutters. Compatible with smaller machines like BT30, the tool is said to provide greater efficiency, lightweight construction and the necessary strength for challenging automotive and general industrial machinery applications.
TungSpeed-Mill is well suited for machining aluminum alloy components such as aircraft and automotive parts, as well as electronic enclosures. Available in diameters ranging from 40-160 mm, it features up to 34 cutting edges and enables cutting speeds exceeding 3,000 m/min for aluminum alloys and non-ferrous alloys.
By utilizing an extra-close pitch cutter, machining time is reduced, leading to increased productivity. Additionally, the company says the large number of inserts distributes cutting resistance, enabling more stable machining.
A tooling weight (including arbor) of 3 kg or less enables the tool to stay within the automatic tool changer limit for BT30 compact machines.
