Six Sigma Concepts specializes in backlit video metrology systems for both small volume inspection for SPC applications and high volume 100% inspection and sorting solutions. Backlit inspection with fast image acquisition and extremely short exposure can provide rapid, precise inspections of multiple features. This can be used to sample individual parts numerous times as they rotate to look for non-uniform defects or to process multiple parts as they transverse an image.

Six Sigma Concept’s InGage software controls its inspection and sorting parameters. InGage is capable of measuring multiple features at once including; lengths, diameters, tapers diameters, positions, angles, radii, chamfers, single start threads, and GD&T controls. These measurements work on parts of most any materials, shapes, and sizes as long as the part fits within a system’s parameters. Single camera systems are generally limited to parts under 3.5” in lengths, multiple camera systems can link images and take cross camera measurements.

Six Sigma Concept’s highest resolution systems can hold an accuracy within ±0.00004” and keep a standard deviation under 0.00001” for a variety of features. Measurements are generally complete within 100ms. Depending on the part size and shape, sorters are able to process up to 10 parts per second/36,000 per hour, assuming those parts can be fed at that rate. InGage has numerous data outputs and is capable of PLC and TCP/IP integration with feeds, robots, bins, and more.
