Laser Photonics Corp.’s STIF-3020 laser cutting solution for sheet metal is designed to improve speed and precision in high-volume metalworking environments.
The STIF-3020 is a standalone, enclosed laser cutting system for mid-scale sheet metal machining. With a work area of 16 ft2 and a floor area of 57 ft2, it offers a space-saving design for metal part manufacturers.
Laser machining provides rapid (up to 500 mm/s) processing with precision tolerances that the company says surpass those achievable with alternative cutting technologies. At its core, the STIF-3020 integrates a high-power continuous wave fiber laser with ±0.05 mm/m accuracy and ±0.03 mm/m repeatability, complete with user-friendly software controls on a PC-based CNC controller.
This system is built for coordinated activation of the laser beam and assist gas. Depending on the metal being processed, oxygen, nitrogen or argon is used to expel molten material and dross from the kerf, producing cleaner edges and minimizing oxidation.
The STIF-3020 is designed for manual loading and unloading. Custom configurations are available for automated handling, alternative laser types and fume extraction.
