Leaders-In background

Weldon Solutions’ Midas Series is a high-production CNC cylindrical grinding platform designed to provide precision, flexibility and long-term reliability for demanding manufacturing environments. Built for both between-centers and chucking applications, the Midas Series is designed to efficiently grind a wide variety of components, including shafts, spools, crankshafts, camshafts, wheel hubs and other precision-engineered parts used in automotive, aerospace, energy and industrial markets.

Available with straight, angular or turret wheelhead configurations, the Midas Series performs multiple grinding operations in a single setup, including OD, shoulder, face, taper and radius grinding. This versatility is designed to reduce setup time, improve throughput and help manufacturers maintain tight dimensional tolerances.

At its core is Weldon’s custom Shear Damper machine base, which is designed to provide rigidity, vibration damping and thermal stability for consistent grinding accuracy during extended production runs. Sealed rotary and linear axes further protect critical components from contamination, reducing maintenance requirements and extending machine life.

The grinder is powered by a FANUC 32i-BT CNC control system with advanced servo technology, precision linear motion systems and high-performance spindle components. The system designed to provide smooth operation, repeatable positioning accuracy and dependable production performance.

For specialized applications, the Midas Series supports high-speed peel grinding, non-round grinding and complex profile generation. Optional angular and turret wheelhead configurations allow multiple grinding processes to be completed in a single setup, improving efficiency and reducing cycle times.

The platform is also automation-ready, offering robotic loading systems, in-process gaging, probing, acoustic monitoring, automated dressing and other process-control technologies designed to improve consistency, reduce scrap and support lights-out manufacturing strategies.

Combining CNC technology, durable construction, application flexibility and automation capabilities, the Weldon Midas Series provides manufacturers with a complete grinding solution designed to increase productivity, improve part quality and deliver reliable performance.
