Leaders-In background

Starrag provides a range of machining solutions designed for large-format structural components made of aluminum, titanium, steel and cast iron.

Starrag’s S1250 HD, a five-axis machining center with hydrostatic guides, is designed to achieve high metal-removal rates of over 1,500 cm³/min, providing efficient machining of titanium structural components.

For engine and rotation-symmetric components, Starrag offers solutions from the Berthiez and Dörries machine series as well as specialized machines for bucket machining which promote maximum dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Additionally, the company’s Ecospeed series, which features a Sprint Z3 parallel kinematic milling head, provides a productive solution for medium- and large-sized structural components made of aluminum.

The Heckert H100 HMC is optimized for robust gearbox housings, axle carriers, machine frames or bulky structural components made of steel or cast iron. The HMC provides workpiece weights up to 4,000 kg and with a 8,900 × 4,600 mm footprint requires around 20% less installation space than many other large machining centers, according to the company.

The Heckert H100’s compact machine concept targets shorter machining times: larger ball screws, an additionally reinforced structure and rapid traverse up to 50 m/min permit higher cutting parameters and reduce main and auxiliary process times. According to the company, savings potential exists not only in the investment but also in the foundation, transport and machining process.
