This month’s Modern Equipment Review Spotlight focuses on laser cutting, welding and marking machines.
The LC5 laser cutting machine from BLM uses a 4.5-kW fiber laser and is designed to speed switching from tube to sheet. As you can see, the machine features two touchscreen consoles—one on the tube-cutting side and one on the sheet side.
Coherent’s Highlight FL-series fiber laser system uses a modular architecture for customizable laser integration. The series offers laser power of 4 kW and higher.
The ELC 250 Duo laser welding machine from Emag has two machining areas to optimize the production of gearbox components. It also uses Emag’s pick-up, self-loading spindle concept to reduce idle times.
Beamer Laser Marking Systems’ line of marking machines come in Benchtop, XL and Full Enclosure models such as this one. The line features a longer Z-axis travel as well as an improved fiber laser power source.
Prima Power’s Laserdyne 430 Versa 3D fiber laser system uses BeamDirector, which enables two-axis laser beam motion without part movement. The system is said to balance cost and flexibility for cutting, welding, drilling, texturing and marking.
The Walter Ewag Laser Line Ultra from United Grinding features ultra-short pulse laser technology that vaporizes material without significant heat input or integrity loss. This toolmaking machine is designed to ease cutting edge creation as well laser ablation on chipbreakers.
