Okuma America Corp. (Charlotte, North Carolina) has opened its first international tech center in Monterrey, Mexico. The 25,000-square-foot facility will enable customers to test different technologies and processes and participate in training opportunities. The technical center will also serve as the headquarters for HEMAQ, Okuma’s sales agent in Mexico.

In other news, the company is encouraging users of its equipment to share success stories and best practices via the recently launched “Tell Your Okuma Story” campaign. Participants can write a brief synopsis or send a candid video about how they have achieved greater efficiencies and productivity in CNC machining processes. All entries will be featured on the company’s website, and select entries will star in a professionally produced video series. The deadline for the first round of entries is May 30.
