Murata Machinery USA Inc. showcases its MF30510HL combination punch press/fiber laser with its FG3015 advanced sorting loader for intelligent parts handling.
The MF30510HL integrates punching, laser cutting, forming, tapping and deburring into a single automated process. It features a 30-ton punching capacity and a 4.0 kW fiber laser, providing high-speed processing across a large 5' × 10' work envelope, reducing the need for multiple machines or setups.
The FG3015 enhances the MF30510HL by automating part sorting and handling with precision, the company says. It includes servo-controlled operation, edge detection, sheet separation and a FANUC-based flexible manufacturing system (FMS) to support lights-out production. Its multipad vacuum arm adjusts automatically for part size, shape and material, enabling micro jointless parts production and sorting of mixed part sizes in the same cycle. Programmable stacking patterns streamline downstream processes, while the compact right-side layout saves shop space.
According to Jeff Kalmbach, general manager of Muratec USA’s Machine Tools Division, pairing the MF30510HL alongside the FG3015 marks a significant step in streamlining sheet metal manufacturing. The combination is designed to offer multifunctionality, helping job shops operate faster and smarter in high-mix, high-demand environments.
Matt Ward, fabrication business unit manager at Muratec USA, adds that the FG3015 represents a move toward intelligent automation. He notes that integrated solutions like these help manufacturers reduce labor dependency, increase throughput and remain resilient in a changing market.
