Experts from TDM Systems, Cribwise and Toolhive are present in a single booth to advise on tool data digitalization, improving efficiency and reducing costs, as well as other possible applications and benefits from digital tool management.
TDM Systems is the enterprise solution for highly integrable and customizable tool data management. By connecting tool data, shopfloor processes and machine communication, it is said to enable a transparent and digitally managed tool lifecycle. From guided tool preparation and automated data transfers to mobile access at the machine, manufacturers gain full process visibility, reduce manual effort and ensure that the right tool data is always available where it is needed.
TDM highlights at the show include the new TDM Machine Data Connector, a standardized machine interface for connecting to a host of the most common machine control systems; the TDM Machine WebClient for mobile tool data retrieval directly at the machine; and TDM ScanEasy, a mobile, browser-based barcode scanner specifically for use on the shop floor. Plus, TDM Systems’ Data Services digitizing tools build the foundation for efficient, digital tool management with TDM software by bringing greater transparency, control and productivity to the manufacturing process.
Toolhive is the cloud-based entry level solution aimed at SMEs and companies new to tool management that want to streamline the tooling inventory process. With direct interfaces to CAM systems, Toolhive is designed to close the gap between production and planning. New at IMTS is the Toolhive workorder management feature that supports the tool planning of each job that goes to the machine tool, increasing the efficiency of the shopfloor management of jobs and tools to be on time at the machine.
Cribwise is a browser-based solution for tool and logistic management. It supports tool tracking inventory control, procurement, reporting and more, offering a complete inventory management solution. One of the highlights at the IMTS is the integration of the Cribwise and Toolhive software; both systems can now be connected, putting live inventory data to work inside the CAM programming process itself. Instead of keeping stock quantities isolated from tool assembly design, Cribwise’s item-level inventory is now made available where CAM engineers are building their tools, thus eliminating the need to log into separate systems, call tool crib personnel or manually confirm counts. The result: inventory data drives smarter decisions upstream before a job ever hits the floor.
