Working with large volume parts has been known to be a time-consuming process when trying to utilize your portable measuring solutions. On occasion, the need arises to measure something outside the volumetric range of your specific measuring arm, instead of having to get a larger system to accomplish this we are going to show you how to take advantage of some built-in functionality that already exists within the hardware. Historically there were software solutions that would assist in compensating for the repositioning of the equipment around the part, unfortunately, these didn’t come without their own challenges and specialized training was required to use them effectively. In order to address this common issue, Hexagon sought to provide a solution that would allow you to actively reposition your equipment around the part allowing continuous acquisition of data without direct software interaction. During this session, we will review how GridLOK and TooLOK technology allows for repositioning the arm numerous times without interacting with the software, recording points, and most importantly without stacking up error.
