America Makes Enters Agreement with ASTM International
The organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding.
America Makes (Youngstown, Ohio), the new brand of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII), has signed a memorandum of understanding with ASTM International to develop ASTM standards for additive manufacturing.
The signing of the agreement “marks a convergence of focused efforts to advance the additive manufacturing and 3D printing industry," says America Makes Deputy Director Rob Gorham. “The impact of standards on the additive manufacturing and 3D printing industry will prove invaluable, helping to increase the manufacturing sector's domestic competitiveness in the global economy."
In other news, America Makes recently sponsored an October chapter meeting of ASM International (formerly known as the American Society of Metals) in Warren, Ohio.
