Autodesk Plans to Acquire Delcam

Autodesk (San Rafael, California) has announced its intention to acquire manufacturing software supplier Delcam of Birmingham, UK. Delcam’s design, manufacturing and inspection CAD/CAM software is used in industries ranging from aerospace to toys and sports equipment. Autodesk will acquire Delcam for approximately £172.5 million ($277 million), structured as a cash offer for all the outstanding shares of Delcam. The transaction is expected to close in Autodesk’s first quarter of the 2015 fiscal year.
