The DMG / Mori Seiki Scholarship Fund aims to support Japanese students in the region affected by recent earthquake and tsunami. During the next 10 years, financial assistance will be offered to students from the Institute of National Colleges of Technology (INCT) in Nagoya who are studying machine building/engineering and who have been directly affected by the earthquake. The total amount of the fund is 2.6 million euros ($3.8 million).

The fund will take into account both current and future students who come from areas that have suffered destruction around Tohoku and the northern Kanto regions. Approximately 50 students will be given financial assistance every year, and they will not be required to reimburse money received from the fund.

The companies say they are providing scholarships to both provide those affected by the quake with assistance and to simultaneously support machine and plant construction in Japan.
