Sponsored by AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology, The six-day event spanned 1,137,375 net square feet at Chicago’s McCormick place in September 2010. A total of 82,411 visitors were on hand to view offerings from 1,728 companies exhibiting in 1,180 booths.

The rankings show that IMTS was second only to the Consumer Electronics Association’s International CES, which occupied 1,442,000 net square feet at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Machinery Manufacturers Institute’s biennial Pack Expo International/Process Expo/CPP Expo, also hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center, was ranked third at 1,054,505 net square feet.
