Mazak Corp. (Florence, Kentucky) will continue its more than 20-year partnership with Penske Racing for all cars competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Verizon IndyCar Series, as well as one car in the NASCAR Xfinity series. The two companies have been partners since 1994, when Mazak became one of the first sponsors of Penske Racing South, Roger Penske’s original NASCAR racing organization.

Matt Gimbel, production manager at Penske Racing, says, “The technology of our cars and components continue to progress in precision and complexity, which, in turn, makes them tougher to manufacture. To stay ahead, we rely on Mazak machines with multitasking, five-axis and ‘done-in-one’ capabilities as well as large tool storage capacities, pallet changers and easy programming for even our most complex parts.”

Between its Mooresville and Concord, North Carolina, locations, Penske Racing machine shops use nine Mazaks, including Vertical Traveling Column, Vertical Center Nexus, Quick Turn Smart and Quick Turn Nexus models.
