Mazak Corp.’s Discover 2025 event, themed “Drive Results with Innovation,” features a four-day lineup of speakers and panel presentations providing valuable ideas and insights for attendees from throughout North America. With more than 30 machines on display, Discover 2025 offers one of the broadest showcases of machine tools with live demonstrations in a single U.S. location for 2025.
The biennial event — which takes place October 6-10 at Mazak North America’s headquarters in Florence, Kentucky — includes a speaker lineup of industry insiders sharing in-depth perspectives on current plans and progress in manufacturing.
On Monday, October 6, Eduardo Tovar, editorial director of Modern Machine Shop México and content director of Meximold, presents “Mexico’s Manufacturing Landscape: Investments and Opportunities in Automotive, Aerospace, Medical and Home Appliance Industries” (“Panorama de la manufactura en México: inversiones y oportunidades en las industrias automotriz, aeroespacial, médica y de línea blanca”). With 29 years of experience in the metalworking industry, Tovar has reported on Mexico’s manufacturing sectors and global manufacturing events. He holds a degree in social communication and international relations and has organized seminars and events for major industrial conferences and trade shows.
On Tuesday, October 7, Mike Cicco, president and CEO of FANUC America and chairman of the Board of Directors for AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology, explores “Driving Results with Automation,” focusing on automation’s contributions to productivity and production efficiency. Cicco leads FANUC’s North and South American operations and serves on FANUC Corp.’s (Japan) Board of Directors. Before joining FANUC, he worked as an automation engineer in the aerospace industry. He holds a baccalaureate in electrical engineering from Bucknell University.
On Wednesday, October 8, Taylor St. Germain, economist and senior consultant at ITR Economics, shares his extensive knowledge in the presentation “Economic Trends Driving The Future of Manufacturing” to help attendees translate industry trends into actionable intelligence for their shops. St. Germain provides consulting services for businesses and trade associations and specializes in market and company forecasting. He holds a baccalaureate in statistics from the University of Vermont and is completing a master’s in applied economics at Southern New Hampshire University.
On Thursday, October 9, a four-person job-shop panel offers perspectives on navigating today’s economic challenges while preparing for long-term success. A Q&A session enables attendees to ask questions of the presenters, including Courtney Silver, president of Ketchie Inc.; Tavis Vaughn, VP of engineering at CNC Machine Products Inc.; Joey Jones, president of AeroTech Machining; and Adam Wulfeck, VP of sales at Jet Machine.
