Machine tool builder Mazak has completed an approximately $1 million expansion to its North Amercian Parts Center at its Florence, Kentucky campus. The 25-percent growth in storage capacity enables the Parts Center to inventory almost 14,000 additional parts to keep customer machines up and running. According to the company, the facility now offers 50,000 unique part numbers valued at more than $65 million and available for same-day delivery for 97 percent of all orders.
The company has also relocated its Spindle Repair and Rebuild Department from inside the manufacturing plant to its own separate, 65,000-square-foot building. According to the company, this move will enable the department to increase capacity for incoming spindle work and provide shorter turnaround times.
