Capture 3D is bringing its 3D scanning solutions for product development, manufacturing and production to EASTEC 2021 in booth 3044. Among them is the ATOS 5, a digitizer that features measurement cameras and a blue LED light source, which Capture 3D claims can collect up to 12-million points per scan in 0.2 seconds. It is available in three models, including the ATOS 5, ATOS 5 Airfoil and ATOS 5X, and reportedly accelerates digitization and inspection capabilities for digital twin and Quality 4.0 strategies.

The ATOS 5 Airfoil is engineered for the aerospace, gas turbine and power generation industries. With its ability to quickly and accurately digitize the intricate shapes, edges and surfaces that comprise airfoil components, the ATOS 5 Airfoil can allow aerospace and defense manufacturers to advance their digital engineering capabilities. Capture 3D says the data collection it provides can support the process and quality control required for inspecting critical airfoil components, including turbine blades, nozzle guide vanes and blisks.

The ATOS 5X reportedly uses an integrated laser light compressor to create an extremely bright blue light source for shortened exposure times, making it ideal for large applications with dark or shiny surfaces. The ATOS 5X uses Capture 3D's large, automated solutions, such as its ScanBox series, which apparently makes it a popular technology for automotive OEMs digitizing full body in whites and aerospace manufacturers measuring large structures.

Each model of the ATOS 5 includes GOM software, allowing for the import of MBD/PMI data, parametric inspection, GD&T analysis and more.
