Electric Motor Spindle Features Self-Cleaning Connection
NSK America displays its iSpeed5 motor spindle at IMTS 2022.
NSK America has created a motor spindle with an automated cleaning system, with the aim to prevent contamination from machining debris without requiring manual cleaning services. iSpeed5 is a fully tool-changeable, electric, high‐speed motor spindle with a 350W, brushless DC electric system available in 60,000rpm or 80,000rpm. A specially designed connection under the machine spindle prevents machining debris from contaminating the stop block, without need for operator intervention. The iSpeed5 enables high‐speed micro‐machining for any period of time, using the operator’s current machine tool. The spindle features ceramic bearings for high-speed performance, and less than 1µm TIR spindle accuracy for all micro‐milling, drilling, and grinding applications.
