Fujitsu Glovia Inc.’s Glovia G2 V3.5.0 provides updates to the company’s manufacturing ERP software, as well as three new applications. Shop Floor Dispatch, Enterprise Search and Contract Agreements add functionality not previously available on Glovia G2.
Shop Floor Dispatch eliminates the need for batching information, according to the company. It provides a visual “one-stop” tool for managing and recording production and inspection activity. Enterprise Search enables users to more easily find and access capabilities within the ERP system. Contract Agreements provides recurring billing functionality for aftermarket companies that offer service and maintenance agreements or rentals.
The software includes updates to existing ERP modules. A file upload capability, General Ledger sub-Ledger and reevaluation capabilities, and project accounting enhancements have been added. Bank Reconciliation and item, supplier, customer and contact searches have been improved. ERP integration for Glovia G2 Sequencing and Contract Management enhancements for shipping and transaction maintenance have been added. Engineering drag-and-drop capabilities and Capable to Promise availability have been expanded. Customer Releasing capabilities and Repetitive Schedule functionality, which enables users to set multiple schedules per day or hour, have been enhanced.
Bridging the gap between process engineering and shop floor activities can bring about a "deproliferation" of cutting tools.
For this small job shop, measuring and controlling everything are the keys to lean—very lean—manufacturing. Yet its management style is surprisingly open and trusting.
Having fully interactive access to shopfloor control software enables supervisors at metal finishing and repair job shop to monitor shop activities and make better decisions on the spot.
