The VMX30U VMC combines an efficient trunnion table design and five-axis technology to simplify machining for parts and molds with swept surfaces and contours, the company says. In addition to performing full five-axis contouring operations, this machine can also be used for five-axis workpiece positioning to minimize the number of setups. The VMC has X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 30" × 20" × 20.5", a 24-station swing-arm ATC and a standard 12,000-rpm spindle (15,000-rpm high speed and 10,000-rpm high torque spindles are available). The VMC features the integrated Hurco control powered by WinMax software, which helps reduce scrap via helpful verification graphics and enable quality surface finishes with advanced smoothing algorithms.
