Oven Industries’ Model 5R7-350/347 thermal controller is designed to operate with thermoelectric (Peltier effect) modules. Most modules may be operated in either a cooling mode or a heating mode depending on current direction, and the controller may be field configured for either of these operating modes. Designed with a proportional/integral control algorithm, the thermal controller is said to provide enhanced control at an economical cost. It can be equipped with either a fixed or adjustable proportional bandwidth and integral rate permits to optimize individual thermal systems. Additional external heat sinking enables operating load currents in excess of 10 amps.

The thermal controller is available in either an open-board construction or encapsulated on a mounting plate. Various configuration options are available for the type of adjustments, packaging, available custom temperature ranges and dial scale. Features include thermoelectric modules rated for 7.5 amps at 9 to 26 V DC with a 25°C mounting plate temperature, single mode operations for either heating or cooling, and more. Accessories such as a remote potentiometer, knob and scale are also available.
