OSG Tap & Die’s HY-PRO CARB VGx variable geometry end mill is designed for chatter-free, high-performance machining of a range of materials. The end mill’s variable index is said to help eliminate chatter by breaking up harmonics produced during normal milling operations. An eccentric relief keeps the tool sharp while minimizing friction. The raised-land design further enables stable, consistent milling in mild to severe operations, the company says. With the addition of TiAIN coating, the end mill can cut at accelerated speeds and feeds while minimizing tool wear.
