Precision Boring Head Enables Easy and Accurate Adjustment
Westec 2017: Allied Machine & Engineering will be highlighting the Wohlhaupter VarioBore precision boring head.
Allied Machine & Engineering will be highlighting the Wohlhaupter VarioBore precision boring head. It is designed for easy and accurate adjustment, which the company says makes it a versatile and cost-effective option for high-precision industries such as aerospace. Its 3E Tech removable digital display enables users to read diameter adjustments while the tool is still engaged in the machine’s spindle and can be used for multiple VarioBores, which improves accuracy and saves money, according to the company. Users can also read adjustments on the Vernier dial screw without the use of the display. The VarioBore has a diameter range of 0.016" to 5.985" and adjustment accuracy that is said to be held to 0.0001" (0.002 mm) on diameter. The VarioBore is designed to be used with counterweights that enable the user to run up to 27,500 rpm, improving finishes and reducing production time.
