The success of any industry standard depends on its adoption by suppliers and end users. MTConnect, the factory floor communication protocol that provides manufacturers with a simple and extensible mechanism to connect manufacturing equipment to software applications, has been well received. One reason for this success is that industry leaders such as Mazak have recognized the value of MTConnect for enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency. An interview with Brian Papke develops this and other important themes. Read the full interview here

Mazak will also be active at MC2, the first major conference dedicated to MTConnect, which is scheduled for November 8-10 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
