Forkardt Inc., part of the Hardinge Group, has released its HWC hydraulic actuating cylinder offering higher rpm and operating pressures. The HWC features a simple inlet design, constant hydraulic flow, provision for coolant-through with a rotating union and a proximity switch or linear system stroke control. It also features built-in trapping, which keeps the cylinder in its extended or retracted state for a period of time in the event of a hydraulic failure. The product is currently offered in sizes of 85 mm and 125 mm.
