Doosan’s DNM 200/5AX five-axis VMC features a built-in fourth- and fifth-axis trunnion table to machine multiple faces on complex prismatic workpieces without refixturing. With its smaller footprint, the compact VMC is said to reduce setup times while ensuring accuracy.
Available from GBI Cincinnati, the Matec 30-HVK series traveling-column universal multitasking center enables multi-face machining in one setup. It features a continuously moving 105-degree CNC swivel head, providing flexibility for a range of applications.
The NVX 5100 VMC from DMG MORI uses slideways to increase stability and damp vibration. The machining center can be equipped with direct-drive attachment tables from the company’s DDRT series for five-axis simultaneous machining and other versatile operations.
Available from Methods Machine Tools, the Yasda YBM Vi40 five-axis vertical jig boring and milling machine capable of high-accuracy hard milling for applications including complex dies, molds and components. The direct-drive spindle features preload self-adjusting capabilities to optimize preload and decrease it according to the amount of heat generated by the spindle bearing.
The EM2040L is the largest in Chevalier’s EM series of vertical machining centers. The VMC’s 47 × 20-inch worktable accommodates loads ranging to 1,320 lbs.
SMTCL Americas’ VMC850E machining center features a compact layout with large side doors and extended axis travels. The VMC is suitable for use in small job shops producing parts in materials ranging from titanium to composites.
Makino’s T1 five-axis HMC is designed for manufacturers machining both soft and hard metals, such as those serving the aerospace industry. The direct-drive spindle with HSK-A100 interface is capable of machining a range of materials, including titanium, nickel-based alloys and aluminum.
The Kitamura high-capacity Mycenter-3XD VMC is designed for small- to medium-sized workpieces. Its high-performance NRG belt drive reduces vibration and noise, enabling smoother operation and improved reliability and stiffness.
Built on an integral bed and base with reinforcing ribs, Okuma’s MA-12500H HMC accommodates parts ranging to 78.72 inches in diameter and 62.99 inches high, and weighing as much as 10,141 lbs. It is well-suited for large-part aerospace applications.
SW North America’s BA 322 HMC features twin spindles for four- or five-axis machining. With the smallest frame size of SW’s heavy-duty machining centers, the HMC handles machining of small- to medium-sized steel, cast iron and light-metal workpieces.
